Talkin Tarn

Talkin Tarn Country Park has a long and rich history and has traditionally been used for recreation since at least the middle of the 1800's. The same is still true today with visitors coming from far and wide to enjoy all that the tarn has to offer.
The tarn is surrounded by attractive countryside and provides a scenic setting for a leisurely day outdoors. Visitors can enjoy the changing landscape throughout the seasons, with the area offering different colours, wildlife, and scenery throughout the year.
The area also provides opportunities for a range of outdoor activities on and around the water. Depending on current conditions, visitor arrangements, and permitted activities, travellers may be able to enjoy boating and other recreational experiences while taking in the views across the tarn.
Talkin Tarn can easily form part of a wider Cumbria itinerary, with visitors able to combine a visit with other countryside destinations, walking routes, scenic drives, and outdoor activities in the surrounding region.
