Cumbria coronavirus area-by-area breakdown as more than 120 new cases confirmed

Cumbria has recorded 126 new cases of Covid-19 in the latest data from Public Health England.

The largest number of cases was found in Carlisle with 52. The overall number is down from 169 yesterday.

The fewest cases, 8, were found in the Eden area.

The data below includes the total number of cases and overall infection rate for each area since the pandemic began. Many of these cases will no longer be active.

  • Allerdale: 4,355 (+42), 4,454.7 per 100,000
  • Barrow-in-Furness: 3,809 (+26), 5,680.1 per 100,000
  • Carlisle: 7,713 (+18), 7,080.5 per 100,000
  • Copeland: 2,653 (+15), 3,891 per 100,000
  • Eden: 2,779 (+8) 5,218.5 per 100,000
  • South Lakeland: 4,149 (+17) 3,948.1 per 100,000

The Government said a further 1,014 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 111,264.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 128,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Friday, there had been a further 19,114 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK. It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 3,911,573.

How many vaccines have been given?

Government data up to February 4 shows of the 11,477,040 jabs given in the UK so far, 10,971,047 were first doses – a rise of 480,560 on the previous day’s figures.

Some 505,993 were second doses, an increase of 4,036 on figures released the previous day.

The seven-day rolling average of first doses given in the UK is now 439,980.

Based on the latest figures, an average of 402,895 first doses of vaccine would be needed each day in order to meet the Government’s target of 15 million first doses by February 15.
