Blackpool’s first ever Winter Pride to take place this weekend

Blackpool’s first ever Winter Pride event is set to take place this weekend in the iconic Winter Gardens.

The Pride Blackpool committee shared this morning that the day-long celebration will take place on November 6 with a line-up of entertainment that has something for everyone.

The day event will be open from 12pm until 5pm, with the main entertainment centred around the Pavilion and Old Victoria Bar.

The full line up of acts is set to be released online soon. There will also be up to 40 stalls selling a variety of Pride related products as well as essential services for information and education located in the horseshoe area.

Winter Pride is a first for Blackpool, and they will also be introducing a new Youth Pride area dedicated to the young people of Blackpool who have put together a line up of entertainment themselves, as well as more stalls.

Tickets for the day event are only £2.50 and children under 12 go free. Tickets are required in order for the event to comply with Covid Safety.

As the event tips into the early evening, the recently renovated Spanish Suite will host the Pride Blackpool Ball.

It starts at 7pm and will continue through to midnight with a theme of “Circus meets Burlesque” at the Cabaret Bizarre.

An early bird offer includes a welcome drink upon arrival, a three-course meal and a roster of entertainment for £35. Also, tables of 10 will only have to cover the cost for nine people. These offers will only be on for a few days so those hoping to get to the ball for a discount price are encouraged to order their tickets early.

The standard ticket price is £45 and the Pride Blackpool Ball is an over 18s only event. Those that purchase an evening ticket will automatically gain entrance to the day event around the Pavilion and Old Victoria Bar.

This being our first Winter Pride we wanted to do something different to what you would usually expect at a summer pride. The entertainment for the ball will be a mixture of circus acts, burlesque dancers and singers. A full line up will be released very soon.

Paul Dewick Day, Chair of Pride Blackpool, said: “We cannot wait to show you what we have put together and I would just like to thank all the Pride Blackpool committee, our sponsors and supporters of which without them this would not be possible. Please go to our website for information on all of those and to purchase your Pride Blackpool Winter Pride tickets!”
